Jahaanara

’. She has been receiving a lot of appreciation for portraying a character, who fights for the rights of the victims of triple talaq.

The bubbly girl from Berhampore, Murshidabad gets nostalgic as she talks about the memories associated with Diwali.

“I am non-Bengali. Diwali holds a special place in my heart. My Diwali comprises of family bonding. I am not from Kolkata I am from Berhampore, Murshidabad. During Diwali I visit there. My parents and sister live there.”

The actress is a complete foodie and loves to treat her taste buds with lip-smacking dishes. She said, “I love food. And Diwali is all about nimki, laddo, petha and all other sweets. I love the taste of mung ka halwa that my mom makes.” The actress gets all excited as she speaks about her home town Berhampore and how the festive mood makes the environment even more beautiful.

Sweta is in Kolkata since last few years. She came to Kolkata to pursue her graduation. The actress, who is a first class graduate from Calcutta University, pursued Botany Honours. But eventually, she fell in love with acting and made her television debut with this serial.

This year, the actress will not be able to visit her home town due to shooting schedule. Talking about firecrackers, she shared that she has stopped using crackers that causes noise pollution and affects both human beings and animals.

She said, “I have a pet dog named Google. And I have seen how afraid he is of firecrackers. Google made me realise that we can celebrate the festive mood without causing harm to others.”
