Ditipriya Roy backs out of ‘Anurager Chhowa’ last minute due to ‘personal reasons’

Ditipriya Roy was all set to make a comeback on Bengali television after a brief period. The actress who started out young, made her mark with her acting chops. Apart from working on Bengali TV, Ditipriya ventured to the big screen and the OTT platform as well. After a brief break from the TV, the actress was gearing up to return to the television with the popular Bengali serial ‘Anurager Chhowa’. However, as per the latest reports, Ditipriya has backed out of the project last minute due to some personal reasons.

Ditipriya was supposed to be stepping into the storyline of the popular Bengali serial ‘Anurager Chhowa’ that narrated the story of Surjo and Deepa, is slated to take a leap of a few years, which will end up portraying their daughter Rupa as a grown-up. Ditipriya was picked for the role of Rupa on the show. However, the ‘Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni’ famed actress backed out of the project last minute.

Earlier, Ditipriya informed that she was yet to have a final word about the project. As she is slated to appear for the final examination for her Master’s degree later this month, the actress expressed her wishes to wrap that up before she took on her next professional commitment.

Ditipriya Roy is one of the most popular faces on Bengali television. Ditipriya started her career in television as a child artist and acted in serials like ‘Maa’, ‘Durga’, ‘Aparajito’, ‘Byomkesh’, ‘Bamakhyapa’,’ Tomay Amay Mile’, ‘Tare Ami Chokhe Dekhini’. In 2015, she acted in ‘Rajkahini’, helmed by director Srijit Mukherji. In 2017 she started her journey as the protagonist in the Bengali television show ‘Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni’. The actress shot to fame from that hugely popular TV show. Ditipriya did not have to look back after that. The daily soap continued for over 1500 episodes and the actress went on to star in films and web series. Ditipriya has made her Bollywood debut in ‘Bob Biswas’. She was recently seen in the web series ‘Abar Rajneeti’.
