Monsoon has finally arrived in Bengal. July has brought in the monsoon showers along with the much-needed drop in the temperature. Tollywood celebrities are enjoying the monsoon to the fullest. From indulging in fritters to making reels, the stars of the tinsel town are vibing well with the rainy season. Devlina Kumar is no exception. The well-known face of Tollywood has her music handpicked for the rainy day. Devlina’s rainy day playlist has one of the classics of Hemanta Mukherjee, ‘Ei Meghla Dine Ekla Ghore’. The actress was seen driving to her favourite tune on Tuesday. To where? Devlina revealed that, her destination was nowhere but her gym!


Apart from being an actress, an acclaimed dancer, Devlina is a fitness freak too. From taking her cycle out for a morning marathon to sweating it out at the gym – Devlina likes to keep herself active and fit throughout the whole year. However, her mantra for fitness is not just losing weight or sculpting muscles. The actress is more focused on holistic wellness and strengthening her body and mind through exercising. Not just that, Devlina is a well-known foodie too. The actress says, she has to keep up with her workout, so that she doesn’t have to compromise on her favourite food.

Devlina, who likes to identify herself as a dancer first, received her doctorate in in the Field of Tagore School of Dance. She shared the joyous news on social media in early April. The actress started dancing when she was merely a toddler. After her initial training in Bharatanatyam and a bit of Kathak abhinaya, Devlina took her training in Manipuri Nartanalaya, learning the dance form under the aegis of Guru Bipin Singh, Guru Kalavati Devi and Bimbavati Devi. After graduating, she learned Odissi for five years and completed her masters in Manipuri from Rabindra Bharati University. Devlina completed her masters in 2016 and by November she had cleared the entrance test of her PhD program. In 2017, Devlina began her PhD journey. After the grueling and equally rewarding journey of seven long years – Devlina Kumar tasted the sweet fruit of success. The actress received the provisional certificate this year, confirming she has finally earned the prestigious Doctorate in the Field of Tagore School of Dance.
