‘Dance Bangla Dance’ fame Ahona Dutta bags a meaty role in ‘Anurager Chhowa’

Ahona Dutta, who impressed judges Govinda, Jeet and Subhashree Ganguly with her talent in 'Dance Bangla Dance', is set to add a new feather in her cap. She has bagged a meaty role in the recently launched television serial ‘Anurager Chhowa’. Interestingly, two other former participants of the same season have also stepped into the Bengali television industry as an actress.Mohana Maiti is playing the lead in ‘Gouri Elo’ while ‘Pilu’ features Dance Bangla Dance Season 11’s Megha Daw as the female lead opposite Gourab Roy Chowdhury.
Ahona recently started shooting for the daily soap which is the remake of hit Malayalam mega serial ‘Karuthamuthu’. The dancer-turned-actress will play the role of a girl who has soft-corner for male protagonist Dr. Surjo. With her entry, Anurager Chhowa’s storyline will witness some major twists. The reel character has grey shades and her presence will certainly create ripples in newly married Deepa and Surjo’s life.
The former participant of ‘Dance Bangla Dance Season 11’, hosted by Ankush Hazra and Vikram Chatterjee, has been busy after the reality show concluded its journey on Bengali television. She did web series as well as worked as a model. The busy bee is enjoying her new project.
Speaking about ‘Anurager Chhowa’, the show managed to steal the hearts of television audiences with a simple storyline and strong cast. Young actors Dibyojyoti Dutta and Swastika Ghosh are playing the lead roles. Interestingly, it is making its presence felt in terms of TRP just like how the original Malayalam show. Karuthamuthu’s success prompted the makers to remake it in other languages too. Telugu show ‘Karthika Deepam’ is a major hit and the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil remakes also received good feedback. It has recently been launched in Hindi as ‘Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar’.
