Coming back to stage is like coming home: Sohan Bandyopadhyay

After almost a year of hiatus,

theatre

worker and television actor

Sohan

Bandyopadhyay came back on

stage

with his new production MithyeCar-er Shotti. The actor was on cloud nine to be able to get back on stage. “I performed last on stage in February last year, just before the

lockdown

started. Our shows got cancelled and we all lived in fear. Later, my other works started as the lockdown was lifted, but the stage production was difficult to start. Finally, all the members of Nat-Ranga gathered for this brand new production.

MithyeCar-er Shotti is a romantic comedy that also features Mousumi Sengupta, Sanjit Chakraborty, Ananya Bose, Sambuddha Banerjee and others. The

play

is written and directed by Sohan. “It is a feel-good play. After the deadly year of pandemic, I think people are looking forward to watching something light-hearted and positive,” Sohan told us.

Meanwhile, the houseful shows of several theatres in the city gave hope to the director and his team. “It is a good sign that people are going back to the auditorium to watch good theatre. I am hopeful that this play will also be liked by my audience,” Sohan said.
