, Samridhya Paul. ‘Balika Badhu’ will be directed by Manish Ghosh. It is an adaptation of ‘

Balika Badhu

' by eminent writer Bimal Kar.

The upcoming show ‘

Briddhashram 2

’ will take the story of Yashoda ahead. Yashoda, who is now a senior citizen, devoted her entire life for her family. But now at this stage of her life, none of her family members want her. ‘Briddhashram 2’ will revolve around the topsy-turvy relationship between Yashoda and her family members. Yashoda, who stays in an old age home named ‘Sesher Kobita’, finds solace among the other inmates. Just like the previous season, ace actress Lily Chakraborty will be essaying the titular role ‘Yashoda’ in this serial. The first season was an instant hit and enjoyed a huge viewership.

On the other hand, ‘Balika Badhu’ will narrate the story of a young girl who gets married before she could realise what marriage is. It is a period-drama in the backdrop of the pre-independence era. Gradually the young girl and her school-going husband grow up together and fall in love. Both the shows will launch on August 31.
