Bollywood singer Javed Ali, known for his melodious voice, was in the city to attend an award function organised by a leading Bengali TV channel. The ‘Srivalli’ singer made the award night even more special with his soulful performances. But what made the night nostalgic was his tribute to late singer-composer Bappi Lahiri.
Javed sang some of Bappi Lahiri’s most popular songs and took the audience on a trip to sheer nostalgia.
Javed also sang some of his hit songs and made the audience groove. The Bollywood singer, who has been a part of the Hindi reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa ’, flew down to Kolkata to attend the award function organised by the channel that airs ‘Mithai’, ‘Aparajita Apu’ and other daily soaps. The artists and their teammates behind-the-camera who made the TV shows a success, were awarded for their contribution.
The award function was a star-studded event and many eminent music personalities were invited too. A musical tribute was paid to late legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Sandhya Mukhopadhyay.
It was indeed a gala event and the actors were spotted at their gorgeous best. Subhashree Ganguly, Ankush Hazra, Subhashree Ganguly, Vikram Chatterjee, Sudipa Chatterjee along with many stars from the small screen. Ankush and Vikram entertained the audience with their crackling chemistry on the stage just like they used to do in ‘Dance Bangla Dance’.
The award function will soon be aired on television.
