Bokul Kotha’s Ushasi Ray set for her movie debut

Actress Ushasi Ray, who started her acting career with Jeetu Kamal starrer television serial ‘Milan Tithi’ , is ready for a new inning. The actress is going to make her movie debut soon. Ushasi forayed into digital platforms earlier and was seen in a couple of web series including ‘Byomkesh’ series, ‘Rudrabinar Abhishap’ and ‘Sundarbaner Viidyasagar’. Now she is ready to make her debut on the silver screen too.Sources suggest, Ushasi has bagged director Raja Chanda’s upcoming movie which will also star actors Soham Chakraborty, Bony Sengupta and Pean Sarkar.
Unlike her girl next door characters, Ushasi will be seen in a brand new avatar in the upcoming movie. The actress is quite excited about the new project. Raja Chanda and his team are likely to start shooting for the movie this month.
Ushasi is very popular among Bengali audiences for her television shows. The actress made her presence felt with the very first television project ‘Milan Tithi’. Her second show ‘Bokul Kotha’ managed to strike a chord with the Bengali audience soon after its launch. Ushasi played a tom boyish character in the Honey Bafna starrer and became a household name. She was also seen playing the titular role in ‘Kadambini’. The show, however, had a short stint in television and went off-air sooner than expected. After that, Ushasi kept her appearance limited on the small screen and can be only seen in non-fiction shows and award ceremonies. She has been busy with web-based projects and photoshoots.
