Bhaswar Chatterjee has a deep connection with his character

Bhaswar Chatterjee is happy to play Baba Lokenath in the

serial

,

Joy Baba Lokenath

. “I feel a power within when I come to the sets and get into the look. I was not aware of his life in such detail before I started shooting for this serial. After getting the offer, I read about his life. I am getting a lot of positive feedback from the people of Bangladesh for this character, as Lokenath spent his last few years in Bangladesh. I don’t eat non-veg when I am on the shooting floors. It is not that someone has told me to, but I do it on my own. I felt that would help me to get more into the character. Nabamita (his wife) too called me to say that she likes my work in the serial. She joked that in real life Baba Lokenath was much slimmer,” said Bhaswar.

The

actor

also spoke of a strange

incident

he had before he got the offer to play Lokenath. “I was shooting Section 302 and there was a picture of Baba Lokenath in the room. Strangely, the eyes of Baba Lokenath were not drawn properly in that picture. So, I asked the production team to get me a brush and paint so that I can draw the eyes properly. A week after that, I got a call from the production house to play this character! I still get goosebumps when I think of this. I have a Lokenath mandir in front of my house and I try to visit it often now,” said the actor, who was shooting two crucial scenes from the serial on Sunday.

“Benarasghat was been created at the studio. It showed Baba Lokenath coming from Rudraprayag. We shot those scenes on Sunday,” informed the actor.
