Bengali actress Sucheta Chakraborty loses battle with cancer, fellow actors shocked over her sudden demise

passed away on Wednesday evening. She was suffering from

cancer

for a long time. The actress, who became a household name with the television serial ‘Jaya’, was in mid 40s.

Sucheta was a popular actress of Bengali television industry and was known for her friendly nature. Sarbori Mukherjee, who was a co-star of the late actress in the serial ‘Anchal’ said: “We were very good friends. I couldn’t believe when I heard the news. Sucheta was suffering from cancer since a long time but she was a real fighter. I have never seen her upset due to the illness.”

Sarbori went emotional as she talked about the actress.

Sarbori remembers their last meeting and said, “Sucheta was a brilliant actress and a passionate dancer.I met her 3-4 months ago and she had asked me whether I would come to see her if she passes away. I never though her joke would come true this way!”

Sucheta used to live in Ranikuthi and couldn’t shoot for last few months due to critical condition.

She was a dancer and ran a dance academy too. She had done a number of serials including ‘Jorowar Jhumko’, ‘Soubhagyabati’ and ‘Benebou’.

Actress Sarmistha Acharjee also shared her memory with the actress. She said, “I am shocked to learn the news. She was a very kind hearted person.”
