Abhishek Chatterjee’s shocking demise has left Tollywood deeply saddened. Reports suggest, Abhishek suffered a heart attack. He was 58. Abhishek is married to Sanjukta Chatterjee and they have a young daughter.
The senior actor wasn't keeping well for the past few days. Despite being unwell, he was shooting for upcoming TV show 'Ismrat Jodi' yesterday (March 23) along with wife Sanjukta. Abhishek's condition deteriorated and he threw up a few times on the shooting sets. Abhishek's co-stars and the crew members immediately rushed to him. Despite several requests from his colleagues, he wasn't ready to visit the hospital. Rather, the actor went home and his family immediately consulted a doctor. But late at night, Abhishek's condition further deteriorated and he breathed his last.
Abhishek's demise has left his industry colleagues and fans in deep shock. Condolences have been pouring in. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee too expressed her deepest grief. In a tweet, she wrote 'Sad to know of the untimely demise of our young actor Abhishek Chatterjee . Abhishek was talented and versatile in his performances, and we shall miss him. It is a great loss for TV serials and our film industry. My condolences to his family and friends.'

The actor was seen on Bengali television lately. He was playing Trina Saha’s dad in comedy-drama ‘Khorkuto’, which is quite popular among the audience. Besides this, he played meaty roles in other shows like ‘Mohor’, ‘Phagun Bou’, 'Tapur Tupur', 'Ichche Nodee', 'Andarmahal' and many others. He was very popular among his industry peers and known for his affable nature.
