The recent issue of alleged payment dues to actors has forced the shoots of three leading serials to be completely stalled. Three general entertainment channels running the shows are suffering along with the audience. To find out a solution, the members of ‘West Bengal Motion Pictures Artists’ Forum’ held a meeting last evening (August 27).
According to the sources, they have given a deadline to the producer handling ‘Debi Choudhurani’, ‘Rani Rashmoni’ and ‘Manasa’ to clear the payment dues along with the TDS by Wednesday (August 28) afternoon.
A close industry source said, “The channels, as well as the audience, will suffer due to the issue. If shoot doesn’t resume immediately, the channels will be forced to repeat telecast of the episodes, which will put a question mark on the credibility of the channels. Forum is dead against the non-telecast. So, they have asked the said production house to clear off the dues by today afternoon so that shoot can be resumed.”
All the actors associated with these three serials are requested to be prepared and join the shoot the moment their dues are cleared.
