Arkoja Acharyya starrer ‘Shreyosi’ to launch on July 18

A number of new Bengali daily soaps are ready to hit the small screen soon. From TV adaptations of novels by eminent writers, love story, family-drama, social-drama to reality series- Bengali small screen has a long list of offering this season. One of the prominent projects is the television adaptation of ‘Shreyoshi’, a novel by eminent author Subodh Ghosh.The show will premiere on the small screen on July 18 and will be by a popular Bengali TV channel that entertained the TV viewers with shows like ‘Amar Thikana Tai Briddhashram’, ‘Jagat Janani Maa Sarada’ and many others.
The upcoming TV show features Arkoja in the lead role along with some of the finest artists of this industry in prominent characters. Sayan Karmakar is paired opposite the Arkoja as the male lead.
Arkoja who started her acting career with theatre and eventually started doing television shows, started shooting for her new project a month back. The actress is thoroughly enjoying her experience.
‘Ogo Nirupoma’ marks Arkoja’s debut show on Bengali television. She played the role of a girl who was very much talented but had to face hurdles in life because of appearance. Actor Gourab Roy Chowdhury played the male lead. On television, viewers have seen Arkoja playing versatile characters. Soon after Ogo Nirupoma wrapped up its journey, Arkoja played a cop in ‘Mithai’ as well as a character with grey shades in ‘Mou Er Bari’.
The new project ‘Shreyosi’ will feature her in a completely different avatar. The story revolves around the protagonist, who grows up in her maternal uncle’s household. Arkoja will play the role of a girl who was once self-dependent and full of confidence. But she goes through some drastic changes after she gets married to a guy whose family has a mysterious past. How her life changed post-wedding has been beautifully portrayed in the story.
