Aparajita Adhya reacts strongly as ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ inches closer to the conclusion

‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’, one of the most popular mega serials of Bengali television, is slated to close shop soon. The TV show is supposed to go off air to make way for a new Bengali soap. The male lead of ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’, Indrasish Roy has already moved on to another TV show that runs on the same channel. But Aparajita Adhya, one of the stars of ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ is not happy with how the show has been pushed toward a ‘forced’ conclusion.

Aparajita, who has been essaying the character of Kojagori Basu on ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ since its inception, recently expressed her displeasure on social media over the fate of the show. Aparajita wrote in a comment, “It is so funny that I could not help but write it here… All the serials that have lower TRPs are running still. Yet, our show, which has been a slot leader consistently, is being discontinued. I can’t help but laugh at this decision.” It is evident from her comment that the actress is quite upset with the channel’s decision of putting an end to ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’.

‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ started its journey in September 2023 after replacing ‘Ekka Dokka’. The show starred Aparajita Adhya and Anusha Viswanathan as its female leads. The story revolved around Kojagori (played by Aparajita) and her daughter Tota (played by Anusha). Tota, who always stayed by her mother’s side, found love and companionship in Ashman (played by Indrasish) and they married each other. As the story of ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ progressed, the show explored various layers of familial relationships. The show has always managed to hold its ground with decent TRP. In the last few weeks, ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ consistently stayed ahead of ‘Alor Kole’, another popular serial in the same slot. However, it seems that was not enough to save the show from discontinuation.

The male lead of the show, Indrasish has already started working on his next show ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’, which runs on the same channel. Anusha is yet to announce her next project after ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’. On the other hand, Aparajita’s last release, ‘Eta Amader Golpo’ (directed by Manasi Sinha) with Saswata Chatterjee as the male protagonist is winning hearts in the theatres.
