Anurager Chhowa to Phulki: Take a look at the top five shows on Bengali television

TRP report is out. While ‘Anurager Chhowa’ continues to top the TRP charts, ‘Bangla Medium’ and ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’ are out of the race. Here’s a look at the most-watched soap operas on Bengali television…

2/7

Anurager Chhowa

Malayalam show Karuthamuthu’s Bengali remake ‘Anurager Chhowa’ has become a strong contender of the numero uno spot on TRP charts. For a long time now, it is enjoying the title of the most-watched shows on Bengali small screen. Continuing the trend, the Dibyojyoti Dutta and Swastika Ghosh starrer has sustained its spot. Thanks to the high-octane drama, emotional quotient and child artists Mishita Roy and Srishti Majumder aka Sona-Rupa’s presence, ‘Anurager Chhowa’ has managed to cement its space in TV viewers’ hearts. 3/7

Jagaddhatri

Ankita Mallick and Soumyadeep Mukherjee starrer ‘Jagaddhatri’ has also sustained its spot in the top five club by securing second spot. Officer Jass, Swayambhu and her team’s constant effort to expose baddies Divya Sen-Tushartirtha Talapatra and serving justice to young girl Tinni whose rights were violated because of the duo, has managed to woo the audience. After lagging for a few weeks in terms of TRPs, ‘Jagaddhatri’ is scoring well yet again.

4/7

Phulki

The recently launched television drama, that narrates the story of a young girl aspiring to be a boxer, has been an instant hit. Starring Abhishek Bose as a former athlete, who quit boxing after a sordid incident and Divyani Mondal in the titular role, ‘Phulki’ is indeed showcasing its ‘Phulki’ (spark). The show has bagged the third spot on TRP charts.

5/7

Ranga Bou

Actors Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Shruti Das, who first worked together as a pair in the latter’s debut project ‘Trinayani’, is casting a spell on Bengali TV yet again with their second show together as a jodi. ‘Ranga Bou’, which proved itself to be an underdog is a regular contender of top 5 places on TRP charts. Just like the previous episode, ‘Ranga Bou’ is in fourth position. The current track is progressing with the hardships faced by protagonists Pakhi, Kush and their elderly uncle-aunt. The emotional quotient in the latest episodes, seem to have worked in show’s favour making it the fourth most-watched soap operas on Bengali small screen.

6/7

 Neem Phuler Modhu

Bahurani Parna (played by actress Pallavi Sharma) can not only handle household issues and her job, but also handle business. While Dutta family is slowly discovering the other talents of their bahu, viewers seemsto have fallen in love with her too. No wonder, the show has been consistently scoring well these days. This time it is in the fifth spot.

7/7

Bangla Medium and Horogouri Pice Hotel

Bangla Medium and Horogouri Pice Hotel: Both the show, have slipped out of the top five game. While Neel Bhattacharya-Tiyasha Lepcha starrer ‘Bangla Medium’ is in sixth position, ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’, which has been introducing back-to-back twists in its storyline, is in the seventh spot.
