'Anurager Chhowa' continues to dominate the TRP charts

TRP report of popular Bengali soap operas, is out and it has some notable changes. While Dibyojyoti Dutta and Swastika Ghosh starrer ‘Anurager Chhowa’ continues to rake the TRP charts this week too, ‘Jagaddhatri’ is back in the game. The daily soap, starring Ankita Mallick and Soumyadeep Mukherjee as the lead pair, has been lagging in terms of TRP for quite some time but not anymore.
‘Anurager Chhowa’, which is the remake of Malayalam TV show Karuthamuthu, seems to have made a permanent place in Bengali viewers’ hearts. While Dibyojyoti and Swastika’s crackling chemistry as protagonists Surya-Deepa has been an instant hit, their reel daughters Sona and Rupa are the show stealer too. The emotional quotient in the story, frequently added twists and turns have made ‘Anurager Chhowa’ almost a consistent performer in terms of TRP. It has kept the tradition of dominating the numero uno spot this week too.
Second spot is secured by ‘Jagaddhatri’. The latest track of Swayambhu being shot at the court premises and protagonist Jagaddhatri’s vow to catch the perpetrator seems to have worked in show’s favour. After quite some time, TV show Jagaddhatri is back in the top two race.
Newly launched ‘Phulki’, which was in second spot last week, has slipped down to third. The show stars Abhishek Bose and Divyani Mondal as the lead pair.
The fourth spot is under the possession of ‘Neem Phuler Modhu’, a show which has been scoring pretty well since its premiere. A simple story, backed by strong performances of Pallavi Sharma, Arijita Mukherjee, Rubel Das and others is the key factor behind its popularity.
Gourab Roy Chowdhury-Shruti Das starrer ‘Rang Bou’ has secured fifth spot this week. ‘Horo Gouri Pice Hotel’, which was in top five list last week, is out this time. ‘Bangla Medium’ too couldn’t squeeze into the top 5 game this time.
