Anupam Roy ties the knot for the third time; gets married to singer Prashmita Paul in an intimate ceremony

Anupam Roy, a popular singer-songwriter and music composer known for scoring music of films like Autograph, Baishe Srabon, Chotushkone, Piku has tied the knot. The ‘amake amar moto thakte dao’ singer married singer Prashmita Paul in an intimate ceremony.

Anupam Roy has tied the knot for the third time. The popular singer-songwriter married singer Prashmita Paul on 2nd March in an intimate ceremony. The ceremony took place in a posh location in Southern Calcutta. Anupam and Prashmita opted for a legal marriage instead of a battery of extravagant rituals and functions. Family members and close friends of the couple graced the marriage ceremony and shared photos of the newlyweds on social media. Anupam himself took to social media and posted a photo of him and Prashmita with the caption, “notun kore”, which means – a new beginning.


Anupam and Prashmita announced their wedding just a week ago. Anupam informed beforehand that he and Prashmita are not keen on a full-fledged traditional wedding. Although they opted for a legal procedure only, Anupam and Prashmita chose a Bengali ethnic look for the day. While Anupam picked a beige-colored Panjabi with pink floral thread work over it, Prashmita chose to wear a pink Benarasi for her big day. The new bride’s wedding saree was embellished with golden zari borders. Prashmita completed her look with subtle makeup and a bun with many gypsy flowers in it. The Anupam Roy Band members and their better halves were present on the singer-songwriter’s big day.

Anupam and Prashmita have long been associated due to their shared love for music. As professional musicians, they have worked with each other in the past. Prashmita was seen celebrating Anupam’s birthday last year with a few of his close friends. The speculation of a romantic involvement between them began from there. Almost a year from then, the two have embarked on a new journey together. Anupam has been married twice before. After separating from his first wife, Anupam fell in love with Piya Chakraborty and subsequently got married to her in 2015. After six years of being married to each other, Anupam and Piya announced their separation in 2021. Two years after her separation from Anupam, Piya tied the knot last November with Parambrata. After getting legally married in November 2023, Piya and Parambrata hosted a reception party for their friends, family, and well-wishers.
