Bengali television is set to welcome a series of new daily soaps. One among them is a show for which actors Kheyali Mondal and Anubhav Kanjilal are teaming up. For the past few weeks, Tolly Para was abuzz with the news of Anubhav’s first TV show. Prior to this, he mostly did movies and web series. Kheyali, on the other hand, became a household name after the success of ‘Alta Phoring’, her debut project as the lead. The news of these two actors pairing up for something new and exciting kept Tolly Para abuzz. The duo, however, remained tight-lipped about it. But not anymore, the first glimpse of their upcoming show ‘Mili’ is out.
Mili
The promo follows protagonist Mili, who is a sweet and simple girl. She is about to get married to her beau. The groom is well established and super rich. He is materialistic by nature, a bit snobbish and self-centered. During the time of crisis, he chooses himself over Mili. Story’s hero, on the other hand, is a guy who abducts Mili from her wedding mandap. She has no clue what’s happening. The stranger, who abducts her by pointing a gun, however, isn’t totally ruthless. He ensures that the bride, who is fasting following the ritual, doesn’t fall unwell. That’s not all upon being charged by the dulhan, who is still in her bridal wear, he also claims to save her life from a disastrous future. Whether Mili eventually bonds with her abductor and who this mysterious guy is, something tickles the curiosity of the audience.
Cast
While Anubhav and Kheyali are playing the lead roles, Dhrubojyoti Sarkar who was recently seen playing a meaty role in ‘Mithai’, is playing the second male lead in the show.
First glimpse of Mili appears to be promising because of the cast and smart narration. It will be interesting to see what the show has to offer.
New projects on Bengali TV
Meanwhile, Bengali TV channels are leaving no stone unturned to hook the audiences with their entertainment platter which is full of different flavours both in terms of genre and storyline. In the recent past Bengali small screen has welcomed comedy drama like ‘Biyer Phool’, family drama- ‘Kar Kachhe Koi Moner Kotha’, Om Sahani starrer ‘Love Biye Aajkaal’ that promises to have a modern touch in the storyline and others. Meanwhile, ‘Tomader Rani’, which will follow the journey of a girl who embraces motherhood at a young age and continues her education after that, has managed to woo the audience. It will be worth a wait to watch which among these dominate the TRP chart in the future.
