Anannya Biswas plays a meaty role in ‘Jagaddhatri’

Actress Anannya Biswas, who stepped into showbiz with the teenage love story ‘Bhalobasa.com’ and eventually appeared on many other soap operas, needs no introduction. The actress from Haldia is among the most familiar faces on Bengali small screen; thanks to her hit projects like ‘Tapur Tupur’, ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’, ‘Jamuna Dhaki’ and others.Anannya has a new television show in her kitty. She bagged a meaty role in popular show ‘Jagaddhatri’, which features debutante Ankita Mallick and actor Soumyadeep Ghosh in the lead roles. Ananya’s appearance would be brief in this show. She is playing a renowned model named Noori in ‘Jagaddhatri’, which airs a parallel track involving crime branch officers Jass, Swayambhu, and their team, besides running the usual family-oriented storyline. According to the current track, Noori accompanies a colleague for an ad shoot at a tourist destination. But the work trip turns into a nightmare after the director and another person are found dead on the seashore under mysterious circumstances. Soon, Noori becomes a prime suspect. Notably, Ananya wasn’t seen in any daily soaps after her previous project ‘Nabab Nandini’ ended. She played an antagonist in the Rezan Rabbani Sheikh and Indrani Paul. Despite setting hopes high, the show had a brief run on Bengali small screen. ‘Jamuna Dhaki’, ‘Boron’ are among her other recent TV shows.
