‘Ami Sirajer Begum’ to hit the TV screen soon

A new period drama ‘Ami Sirajer Begum’ is all set to hit the small screen soon. The story of this upcoming serial will be on the famous book by Sri Parabat. There is also a famous film starring Biswajit,

Ajitesh Bandopadhyay

and Sandhya Roy under the same title.

Since last few months rumours were rife that a mega-budgeted show on

Siraj ud-Daulah

will soon be seen on the small screen. But the makers were tight-lipped about the project and held several look tests to select the lead actors. In fact, a number of actors were contacted by the makers before zeroing upon model-turned-actor Sean Banerjee for Siraj ud-Daulah character. Interestingly, Sean is Supriya Devi’s grandson.

Actress Pallabi Dey will be seen essaying

Lutfunnisa Begum

’s character. Pallabi was previously seen in ‘Resham Jhanpi’. According to the sources, another general entertainment channel, which is all set to be launched in West Bengal, might also produce a show on Siraj ud-Daulah.
