Actress Srijani Mitra tests positive for COVID-19

Model-turned-actress Srijani Mitra has tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently under home quarantine and is in stable condition. The actress had mild fever and other symptoms of coronavirus. She immediately stopped attending shoots and isolated herself. The actress has urged everyone, who met her in the past few days to get tested, as well.
Srijani, who participated in a beauty contest, has played meaty roles in ‘Bajlo Tomar Alor Benu’ and ‘Mohor’.
Besides Srijani actress Soma Chakraborty, who is currently seen playing Rohaan Bhattacharyya’s reel mom in ‘Aparajita Apu’, has also tested positive for COVID-19.
The number of fresh COVID-19 cases in the entertainment industry has become a serious issue. Many artists from various TV projects have tested positive for the virus. To curb the situation, Welfare Association of Television Producers (WATP) and Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern India (FCTWI) jointly decided some guidelines for shooting. The shooting units have been asked to strictly follow the guidelines. West Bengal Motion Picture Artists’ Forum has also asked all the shooting units to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocols.
