Pallavi is elated to bag the lead role in this new show. The actress wasn’t seen on television after ‘Kunjochhaya’ went off-air. The show featured senior actor Shankar Chakraborty as ‘Master Dadu’. Pallavi played Shalik’s character who was Master Dadu’s constant companion. Actor Somraj Maity, who is presently busy with the TV show ‘Jiyon Kathi’, was paired opposite Pallavi. He played a cricketer’s character. Though ‘Kunjochhaya’ went off-air before completing one year on television, Pallavi’s performance was appreciated by the audience. The bonding between Master Dadu and Shalik made the storyline quite interesting.

Prior to this, Pallavi played Lutfunnisa Begum’s character in period-drama ‘

Ami Sirajer Begum

’.

Sean Banerjee

played

Siraj-Ud-Daulah

’s character. Sean and Pallavi’s on-screen chemistry was one of the USPs of the show.

Pallavi’s character in ‘Saraswatir Prem’ is quite different from the other roles she has played so far. She will essay the role of a girl who doesn’t believe in love.

Apart from ‘Saraswatir Prem’, a number of shows are being pipelined for launch. The same channel that will launch ‘Saraswatir Prem’, will also launch ‘Kanyadan’. Yet another leading Bengali channel will launch ‘Aparajita Apu’ and the dubbed version of Marathi show ‘Tula Pahate Re’.
