Actress Nabanita Das bags a new television project
Actress Nabanita Das, who has been giving the Bengali small screen a miss after the conclusion of ‘Mahapeeth Tarapeeth’, has a new project in her kitty. She will be seen in an upcoming television show which will have an ensemble star cast. Nabanita will be teaming up with actor Raja Goswami for this show.
The look test has been done and the project is likely to hit the shooting floor next month if everything falls into place.
The actress, who is married to Jeetu Kamal, wasn’t seen in any daily soaps after the mythological show ‘Mahapeeth Tarapeeth’ concluded its journey. She made occasional appearances on non-fiction shows, however. The actress rose to fame with the success of her very first television show ’Deep Jwele Jai’, which was recently remade in Hindi as ‘Rishton Ka Manjha’.
Debutante Nabanita’s reel chemistry with actor Indrajit Chakravarty was an instant hit, making the actress an overnight sensation. After that, Nabanita played the female lead in Rahul Arunoday Banerjee starrer ‘Ardhangini’. After Rahul’s exit from the show, Jeetu was seen playing the male lead in the television drama. In her last project, ‘Mahapeeth Tarapeeth’, which was a mythological show, Nabanita played Maa Tara’s role. Her upcoming small-screen project, however, will feature the actress in a completely different character.
Raja, on the other hand, is currently a part of the ongoing TV drama ‘Bangla Medimum’, which features Sampurna Lahiri, Neel Bhattacharya and Tiyasha Lepcha in prominent roles. He is one of the most popular faces on Bengali TV. His career took a different turn with the success of the teenage TV drama Bhalobasa.com’s success. The show was quite a trendsetter back then. After that, Raja has been a part of many shows including ‘Lukochuri’, ‘Khorkuto’, ‘Dhulokona’ and many others.
