Bengali model-actress Mishmee Das is playing a freedom fighter in ‘
Mahapeeth Tarapeeth
’. The actress, who has been mostly seen playing a modern girl on screen, is happy to break the image.
In a social media post, Mishmee opened up how she was told that she looks ‘too modern’ to play certain roles. Breaking the image, Mishmee is currently playing Chandana’s character in the mythological show. Chandana takes the disguise of a man to fight against the British rulers.
Wearing a wig and moustache, Mishmee looked quite convincing as Chadrashekhar. According to the storyline,
Bamakhyapa
rescues Chandrashekhar in an injured state and takes care without knowing the truth. Later, he discovers that Chandrashekhar is just a disguise. As Chandana, Mishmee will be seen in a completely different avatar compared to her earlier roles. Wearing a cotton saree, braids, and minimum make-up; Mishmee looks beautiful as a village belle. And the actress is happy to play the role too.
Interestingly, when most of the actresses are keen on breaking their ‘adarsh bahu’ image and flaunting their dazzling diva avatar, Mishmee seems to be an exception. In her social media post Mishmee wrote: ‘From the beginning of my career , I was told I look too “modern” to play not so modern characters. I was typecast as an urban, upright girl . This is to breaking stereotypes. Watch me as Chandrashekhar/Chandana in Mahapeeth Tarapeeth.. sic’
