Actress Debashree Roy performs her Guru-fatherly figure Tarun Majumdar’s posthumous rituals

Veteran artist Debashree Roy performed the posthumous rituals of late director Tarun Majumder. Today, the actress performed puja and other rituals at the temple following the last wish of Tarun Majumdar, who used to love Debashree as his daughter. The legendary director and wife Sandhya Roy don't have any children and they considered Debashree, Mousumi Chatterjee and late actress Mahua as their daughters.

Debashree isn’t keeping well and suffered an emotional breakdown after the demise of the legendary director who breathed his last on July 4. She has been suffering from cold and caugh. She has high fever since Thursday. But despite illness, she performed all the duties of a daughter and took part in the rituals with a heavy heart.

The ace actress, who recently made a comeback with TV show 'Sarbojaya', considered him as her father figure and Guru, who not only guided her but also gave her the name Debashree. Earlier on Monday, addressing the media, she said, “I can’t express what I am going through. He is like my father who created me. Even my name was given by him. I considered him as my father and Sandhya Di as mother,” she said.

The actress broke down while talking to the media and cried inconsolably. Eminent director Tarun Majumder’s demise at the age of 91, has left cine lovers deeply mourned. He breathed his last in the morning on July 4. He was admitted to the hospital on June 14. The demise of the legendary filmmaker who won 4 national awards, has left the entertainment industry, his numerous admirers across the world deeply shattered. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had expressed her deepest condolences. Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta and many other eminent personalities from Tollywood expressed their deepest grief over the loss.
