Bengali actress Arkoja Acharyya, who has a theatre background, stepped into the showbiz with daily soap ‘Ogo Nirupoma’. The young actress made her presence felt with her debut show starring Gourab Roy Chowdhury as the male lead. Well, Arkoja has a new show in her kitty which will launch shortly on a popular Bengali television channel.
While the promo went on-air a few days back, Arkoja started shooting for the show 'Shreyosi' from today.
“I am really excited about the show. The story is based on a novel by eminent author Subodh Ghosh. He is one of my favourite authors,” says the actress.
The story revolves around the protagonist, who grows up in her maternal uncle’s household. “It’s a beautiful story that revolves around the female protagonist, who was once self-dependent and full of confidence. But she goes through some drastic changes after marriage. How her life changed post-wedding has been beautifully portrayed in the story,” adds Arkoja.
When asked about her preparation, the actress says, “Although I had read Sreyosi earlier, I started reading yet again as soon as I got the offer. I have been busy prepping up so that I can essay the character convincingly,” says Arkoja. She was busy with Mithai’s shooting when the actress was approached by the makers. Arkoja was playing police officer Basundhara aka Dhara’s role in the popular show that features Soumitrisha Kundoo and Adrit Roy as the lead pair.
The upcoming show will star actor Sayan Karmakar opposite Arkoja as the male lead. Sayan was earlier seen in TV shows ‘Jibon Saathi’ and ‘Ke Apon Ke Por’.
