Actress Ankitaa Chakraborty bags a new television show

Popular actress Ankitaa Chakraborty has a brand new project in her kitty. Ankitaa has been roped in by Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee for their upcoming show. She will play a meaty character in their upcoming daily soap ‘Jhanak’.
She will play Aparajita Bose’s role in the upcoming show which also has Bengali TV’s heartthrob Rishi Kaushik. Ankitaa’s character Aparajita has interesting shades.The character is completely opposite what Ankitaa had played in her previous project.
The actress was last seen in television show ‘Indrani’, where she played the titular role. Ankitaa’s performance as an independent working woman, and mother of a young girl, who takes care of her in-laws despite being separated from her husband, managed to woo the audience in the television show. The show featured actor Rahul Ganguly opposite Ankitaa. He played the role of a young doctor who falls in love with much older Indrani. The latter keeps turning down his proposal with the fear of social acceptance. But finally, she agrees to marry him. Ankitaa was highly praised for playing the character of a woman who has to fight several battles at the same time but never bows down.
Ankita, who has previously worked with Leena in ‘Phagun Bou’, will be working in a Hindi show. Interestingly, Ankita was in Mumbai for a long time since she was keen on doing Hindi projects. In fact, she was a part of two Hindi web series too. But ‘Jhanak’ will be her first daily soap.
Ankita has several hit television shows like ‘Ishti Kutum’, ‘Agni Pareeksha’, ‘Binni Dhaner Khoi’, ‘Mohor’, ‘Prothoma Kadombini’ and many others. She is one of the most popular faces on Bengali television and has been striking a fine balance among her movie commitments, OTT projects and television shows. Abir Chatterjee starrer Byomkesh Phire Elo was her first movie and until now, she has many films to her credit.
