Actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee to play a meaty role in ‘Basanta Bilash’

Popular actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee is back on television in a brand new avatar. After playing a dutiful and honest man named Raja who always stayed connected to his roots in TV show ‘Desher Maati’, Rahul will now be seen in a comedy-drama. The actor has joined the cast of ‘Basanta Bilash’.
Rahul will be seen playing protagonist Mohua’s old flame from her native place Malda.His character has an interesting shade along with a comic touch.
Tukai, the character played by Rahul, is a singer who had many female admirers when he was in college. Just like many others, Mahua too, fell for heartthrob Tukai, when she was in school.
Years back, on Valentine’s Day, Tukai asked Mohua to meet him. Although Mohua eagerly waited for her prince charming, Tukai didn’t turn up. calls Mohua to meet her. Mohua waits for him but he does not come. The incident leaves Mohua heartbroken. Soon, Tukai leaves Malda and comes to Kolkata to pursue his singing career.
After several years, Tukai meets Mohua only to see her with Rahul. He wants to win Mohua back at any cost and reaches messbari Basanta Bilash in disguise of a tenant.
Over these years, Tukai has changed and turned into a guy who is finicky about cleanliness and sanitization. He is always cleaning his surroundings and moves around with a sanitizer in his hands. Tukai is also health conscious, does yoga and meditation in the morning. Mohua’s current boyfriend Rahul, feels insecure seeing Tukai.
With such a storyline, ‘Basanta Bilash’ is set to take the audience on a laugh riot. The show stars Kanchan Mullick, Kamalika Banerjee, Arpan Ghosh and Nandini Dutta in prominent roles.
Speaking about Rahul, his last TV project ‘Desher Maati’ was quite popular. His reel character Raja was hugely popular among fans. Rooqma Ray played Mampi’s character in the show. Raja-Mampi’s chemistry was one of the key-attraction. The actor has been also busy with his movie commitments.
