Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar and Paoli Dam starrer Byomkesh Hatyamancha gets World Premiere

Arindam Sil directed Byomkesh Hatyamancha is ready to entertain the audience. The movie, based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Byomkesh Bakshi series had its theatrical premiere in August and now it is getting a World Premiere. Keeping all the fans of Byomkesh Bakshi in mind, a leading Bengali OTT platform has decided to stream it. The Byomkesh franchise features actors Abir Chatterjee and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as detective Byomkesh and his friend Ajit. Sohini Sarkar plays Byomkesh Bakshi’s wife Satyabati while the makers roped in Paoli Dam for a prominent role. The other star cast includes artists Kinjal Nanda, Anusha Viswanathan, Arna Mukhopadhya and others playing different roles.
Prior to this, Arindam Sil had directed three other movies- ‘Har Har Byomkesh’, ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ and ‘Byomkesh Gotro’ under this franchise with mixed reviews from the audience. While Abir’s performance as deceive Bakshi stole the audiences’ hearts and Sohini as Satyabati was equally convincing, the series saw different artists playing Ajit’s character. In ‘Har Har Byomkesh’ and ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’, actor Ritwick Chakraborty essayed the character while in ‘Byomkesh Gotro’, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee was roped in for the character. Ritwick, with his charismatic performance, brought life to Ajit’s character. Rahul too performed well. The fourth series, however, features Suhotro as Ajit. Interestingly, Suhotro is also playing Ritwick’s assistant in detective series ‘Gora’ which is again being streamed on the same OTT channel.
Padmanabha Dasgupta did the screenplay for ‘Byomkesh Hatyamancha’, which narrates the story which is set against the backdrop of the 70's.
