Meet the grown-up Gangaa and Sagar: A new chapter in the lives of Gangaa and Sagar is set to unfold today, as the television show Gangaa goes in for a time leap. The child widow, who made an earnest effort to take societal norms in her stride, will now be seen as a young, mature woman. Over the years, her friendship with Sagar has also changed as the two step into adulthood. The story, set in the backdrop of Varanasi, will now focus on how this bitter-sweet friendship between the two childhood friends take on a new, different meaning for the two of them. While Aditi Sharma will essay the zesty Gangaa, Vishal Vashistha will play Sagar. Says Aditi, “Gangaa has grown up, but she hasn’t compromised on her beliefs. She is an integral part of the Chaturvedi family and nurtures feelings for her friend Sagar.” Vishal adds, “I’m glad to be a part of a show with so much integrity and essay the role of Sagar. The beauty of the character is the relationship he shares with Gangaa. I am certain the audience will like our chemistry.” Gangaa airs every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm on &TV

Yeh Vaada Raha to see a leap of eight years: Yeh Vaada Raha will see a leap of eight years. Roshni Walia will be replaced by Sonal Vengurlekar, who will be seen playing the character of a grown-up Survi. The new track will be going on air within the next few days. Ankush Arora’s look will also change with the leap. “I will be seen as a 30-year-old man who has become very bitter about life. I will be seen sporting salt-and-pepper hair. From a boy-next-door, I will be seen transformed into a suave man who wears suits. It will be a challenge for me to play such a mature character,” Ankush says.

<strong>&#39;Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi&#39; to take 6-months leap, Ranveer to have double role:</strong> Colors&#39; popular show &lsquo;Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi&rsquo; is all set to take a leap of six months in which Ishani (Radhika Madan) will be seen as RV&rsquo;s (Shakti Arora) wife. According to the reports, post-leap the lead actor Shakti Arora aka Ranveer will be seen in double role. His other character will be introduced to audience as Ranveer&#39;s duplicate. Reports also say that Shikhar&#39;s (Arjun Bijlani) character will come to an end in order to bring Ranveer and Ishaani together before leap.

'Suryaputra Karn' to take 10-year leap: Popular mythological show 'Suryaputra Karn' will be taking a leap of 10 years in the upcoming weeks. Taking the reins from child actor Vishesh Bansal, newcomer Vasant Bhatt will be seen essaying the title role in the show post leap. “This is my first show as a lead actor and I am thrilled to essay the character of Karn on television. It’s a very interesting role and I consider myself lucky to have got the opportunity to play such a powerful part,” Vasant said in a statement. “I have been going through intense training for the role as I will start shooting soon. The cast boasts of some brilliant actors and I am looking forward to work and learn from each and every one of them,” he added. (Source: IANS)

Vasant takes over from Vesesh to play the new Karn:

It’s barely been two months since its launch, but the mythological show 'Suryaputra Karn' is already set for a time leap of 10 years. And with this, child artiste Vesesh Bansal will make way for newbie Vasant Bhatt. Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary confirms, “This was always the plan. The show encompasses different stages of Karn’s life. We have explored this age and it’s time to take the story ahead to his teen years. The new Karn will be 18.” Talking about his impending exit, Vesesh says, “I will miss the shoot and playing Karn. I am leaving with a heavy heart, but I wish the new Karn all the best.”

Shastri Sisters to feature one year jump: Television baddie Puneet Vashisht roped in to play pivotal character post-leap: Colors’ family drama Shastri Sisters has reached a tumultuous juncture one year later. The show has been leading viewers through a number of emotional landmines after Kajal’s constant strife with the family for property, inevitably causing Rohan to be sent to jail. And as Shastri Sisters continues to keep viewers engrossed very single week, the show is set to add to the twists and turns as it takes a one year leap. Roped in to portray the character of Raghavendra Singh is popular television actor Puneet Vashisht who has portrayed a dark character on many occasions in the past. Commenting on the new role Puneet said,”Shastri Sisters is a show that speaks vastly of family and relationships. The show has seen many strong negative characters and as the one year leap changes the storyline, my entry on the show will do just that to Anu’s life. Raghavendra’s character is obsessively psychotic. He knows no balance…he loves and hates in extremes. To me, Raghavendra’s character is exciting in terms of the vengeful behavior and intrigue he builds in the show. I believe in living the character and am looking forward to see what Raghavendra has in store for me!”

'Maharana Pratap' to take another time leap: TV show 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra — Maharana Pratap' is all set to take another time leap of 3 years. The historical show has seen two leaps earlier — Ssharad Malhotraa took over from Faisal Khan to play the grown-up Pratap in the first one and the second one being the eight-year leap during the Chittor siege. We hear that there will be no change in the cast as of now.

Ever since its inception, Balika Vadhu renews the plot at regular intervals to keep the viewers engaged. It was only a while ago that the show had a twist in the plot when Sidharth Shukla's character Shiv died and Toral Rasputra's character, Anandi, was shown as a single mother, bringing up her twins all by herself. According to a statement issued by the makers of the show, Balika Vadhu is now going for a whopping 11-year leap where history will be seen repeating itself. Anandi’s young daughter, Nimboli finds herself bound by the chains that plagued Anandi’s own childhood. She faces the threat of child-marriage. 11-year-old Baroda resident, Gracy Goswami has been roped in to play Nimboli who is kidnapped and raised in an orthodox family. Anandi, who has turned into an activist who fights against child-marriages, remains unaware of her kidnapped daughter's plight.

Comedy Nights takes a one-year leap: Changing the trend is the stand-up comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil, which has taken a leap of one year. While Dadi (Ali Asgar) will be suffering from acute memory loss, Bittu's wife Manju (Somona Chakravarti) will be a working woman and her siblings will stay with her in the same house. Bua (Upasna Singh) will win a lottery and will no longer be staying with Bittu. The leap has brought freshness to the story. On the left side is Gutthi's (Sunil Grover) parlour and the kitchen has made way for a tailor shop, which is run by Palak or Pankhudi (both played by Kiku Sharda).

Divyanka Tripathi-Karan Patel's Ye Hain Mohabbatein to take time-leap: TV show 'Ye Hain Mohabbatein' has been ruling the Indian screens for quite some time now. However, the popularity of the serial has been dipping steadily and so the producers have decided on doing what everyone else does in such a situation: yes, a time leap. The Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel soap will fast-forward towards the end of July. Of course, this means the kids will grow up too. The plot will also be more dramatic.

Paras Arora and Pratap Hada to enter Saathiya?

The news about Saath Nibhaana Saathiya airing on Star Plus' going for a generation leap is doing the rounds these days. The show is expected to witness a generation leap of 10-15 years and the latest information that we have gathered from the sets is that actors Paras Arora and Pratap Hada will enter the show with the leap.

Sources inform that with the leap, the story will revolve around the kids of the Modi family who will be shown as grown-ups. After going through several auditions the creative team has zeroed in on Paras and Pratap to play important roles.

When contacted, Paras said, "Yes, I had a look test for the show but haven't received any confirmation from the production house or the channel."

Jamai Raja: The Zee TV show has been grabbing eyeballs since it's launch. Jamai Raja is one show that tells the story of a son-in-law while most other shows revolve around daughter-in-laws. However, the makers are soon planning to introduce an interesting track in the show wherein they will bring a new character. TV actor Mohit Malhotra last seen in Beintehaa will join the daily soap. There is a six-month leap, after which Nia's character will be seen settling down with Mohit's character in Bangkok.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Rajan Shahi’s long running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been coming up with interesting twists and turns to keep the show alive. According to sources, the makers are now planning to bring in a generation leap. Certain sections of the media have reported that the daily soap will witness a jump wherein Akshara will be shown dead after and Hina Khan will be seen playing the role of Naitik and Akshara's daughter. The reports also suggest that the story will move to South Africa for sometime. But the makers have denied any such development.

Mahakumbh: The show was launched with much pomp and fanfare and replaced Life OK's top rated show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. It is doing well and is fetching good numbers. Mahakumbh, which started with child actor Siddharth Nigam, has already grabbed many eyeballs with the stunts and interesting story line. It is currently the number one show on the channel. And the smashing entry of Gautam Rode has only added a punch to the existing story line.
