Actor Pijush Ganguly passes away

Actor Pijush Ganguly succumbed to his injuries early on Sunday morning at the Belle Vue Clinic where he was admiited since October 20 when his car collided with a bus at Santragachhi. He suffered multiple fractures on his leg and arm, apart from his ribs. The actor underwent a surgery on his right leg on October 21 at the Belle Vue Clinic. He was due for another surgery on his right arm, but it could not be done as Ganguly's condition started deteriorating on Saturday morning. Doctors at Belle Vue said his blood pressure dropped sharply and his liver function was affected.

He was put on a ventilator as Ganguly had a severe breathing discomfort due to his fractured ribs. "His abdomen started swelling and he was slipping into unconsciouness. These eventually led to a multi-organ failure early on Sunday morning. He passed away at 2.45 am," said one of the attending doctors. Ganguly was being treated by a team of doctors led by Tapan Sarkar. The actor's body was taken to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem on Sunday morning. At 12.45 pm, his remains were taken to his Behala home and from there to the Technicians' Studio at Tollygunge.

His last rites were performed at the Keoratala crematorium on Sunday evening.

Ragini Khanna's father passes away

TV actress Ragini Khanna, the 'Sasural Genda Phool' fame is bereaved. Today (October 15, 2015) morning brought in some sad news for the talented actress with the demise of her father. The reason for his demise is apparently said to be heart attack.

Sources inform that Ragini's father Praveen Kumar was not keeping well and was hospitalised since past ten days. Praveen Khanna, who was a film producer complained of chest pain in the morning and breathed his last after the cardiac arrest. The last rites will be held in Mumbai.

Mohan Bhandari Passes away

Veteran actor Mohan Bhandari, who has been a part of hit TV shows like 'Saat Phere', 'Kitty Party', 'Parampara' to name a few passed away today (September 24, 2015).

Sources inform that the actor was recuperating from brain tumour and was advised a complete bed rest since last year and a half year. Mohan, who also has some popular films to his credit like 'Yalgaar', 'Mangal Pandey -The Rising' breathed his last around 7 pm today (September 24, 2015).

TV actor Sanjit Bedi of 'Sanjivani' fame dies: Actor Sanjit Bedi, who shot to fame with popular TV serial 'Sanjivani' passed away on June 23, 2015 due to a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife Rekha Bhatia.

Bedi was known for his role as Dr Omi in 'Sanjivani', which also starred Mohnish Bahl, Gurdeep Kohli, Rupali Ganguly and many other. Besides 'Sanjivani', the actor also starred in 'Jaane Kya Baat Huyi', 'Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman', 'Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka', 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' and few others.

According to reports, Bedi was suffering from a brain virus and was in coma for sometime.

Baa passes away: Veteran actress, Sudha Shivpuri, more popular for playing the role of 'Baa' in Ekta Kapoor's longest running TV show ' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' died on May 20th morning. She was 79. According to reports, the actress had not been keeping well since 2013. She also suffered a heart attack in December 2013 for which she was in hospital for 6 months.

Entertainment industry lost a talented actor as Ashraf-ul-Haq passed away on February 17, 2015. An NSD graduate, Haq hailed from Goalpara in Assam. His contribution to Hindi cinema was significant and he had been part of more than 30 Hindi films, TV shows and commercials. He breathed his last at Andheri, Mumbai. He was suffering from a rare disorder called Myelodysplastic Syndrome and was undergoing treatment for the past two years. He is survived by his wife and 9-year-old son Ibrahim. He proved his talent with films like 'Deewar', 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Fukrey', 'Company' and the recently released movie 'The Lost Beharupiya'.

Actress Grace Lee Whitney, who is best known for her role as the royal Yeoman Janice Rand on Star Trek original TV series in 1966, has died. She was 85. In a PTI report, her son, Jonathan Dweck, has confirmed the sad news and revealed that the actress had died on May 1, at her home in Coarsegold, California. Grace had appeared in eight of 13 episodes of Star Trek first season, where there was much sexual tension between her character and William Shatner's, Captain James T Kirk. She was then suddenly released from the contract. However, when the series was reborn as a movie in 1970s, Grace returned to the Star Trek franchise, reprising her role as Janice Rand who had received a promotion to Chief Petty Officer in Star Trek The Motion Picture.

Actress Suzanne Crough, best known as Tracy Partridge of the classic sitcom The Partridge Family, is dead, according to a report on IANS. She was 52. According to her husband, William Condray, Suzanne passed away at her home in Laughlin, near Las Vegas, on Monday, April 27. Reportedly, details about the cause of her death have not been identified yet as her family claimed that the actress had died suddenly. The report states that medical examiner, John Fudenberg, has revealed that an autopsy to investigate the cause of the death would be held on April 29.

Ragesh Asthana: Noted actor Ragesh Asthana who has contributed immensely to the entertainment industry breathed his last on 20th March, 2014. Close friends of Ragesh said that he had lost his voice before he had a massive heart attack. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, the efforts were futile. The actor was seen in many shows like 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo','Palampur Express', 'Katputli' and was last seen in 'Gumraah' on Channel V. Abir Goswami: TV actor Abir Goswami, who worked in shows like 'Kkusum', 'Hotel Kingston', 'Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli', 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai', passed away on 31st May, 2013. It took everyone by surprise as the young actor suffered a massive heart attack. Abir, who was seen in 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara' underwent a surgery for Lymphoma - a kind of cancer tumour a year before his death. It was reported that Abir suffered a massive cardiac arrest when he was running on the treadmill at his gym. He was rushed to a hospital in Malad immediately which was of no use.

Rubina Shergill: Rubina Shergill, who played the second bahu Simran, a brave cop in Zee TV's Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, passed away on 12th Jan, 2012. The actress was in coma for few weeks and was on ventilation support. Before her unfortunate death, she had also suffered an asthama attack on the sets and was rushed to the hospital. However, the beautiful actress suffered another attack which turned out to be fatal. We miss the beautiful talent.
