York is a Cathedral City in the North England. Its stunning cathedral, Yorkminster, occupies pride of place here. Yorkminster is one of England’s most gorgeous cathedrals, so it’s worth planning a trip to York just for this. However there is so much more to this historic walled city. You can take a leisurely stroll by the river, have traditional English Afternoon Tea in one of the tearooms, walk around the city’s historic walls, picnic at the ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey, or visit York’s historic pubs. You will feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you explore its alleyways and lanes. York is also the gateway to The Yorkshire Dales National Park. The National Park offers a variety of holiday options – you can go camping, trekking, or explore vibrant local communities and stay at a guesthouse or quaint hotel in the area.
