World Oceans Day 2023: Vizag Zoo organises a coastal cleanup to mark the occasion!

The main purpose of the mission was to create awareness in public and make people understand the significance of preserving oceans and aquatic creatures.
The zoo officials had asked interested people to help them with the coastal cleanup and meet at the Visakhapatnam Zoo’s beach road gate at 6 AM in the morning. Tools to clean the ocean and its surroundings were provided to the volunteers.
There were instructors as well to help the participants. Later, the volunteers were provided with a certificate as an appreciation for the participation.
About Indira Gandhi Zoological Park
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is one of the prime attractions in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The zoo is covered in greenery as it is set in the heat of the Kambalakonda Reserve Forest. A lesser-known fact about the zoo is that it is the third biggest zoo in India, and is surrounded by the Eastern Ghats on three sides and the Bay of Bengal on one side.
