Although not known for its rocking nightlife, Venice has a few after-dark secrets up its sleeve and this is one of them. At the Venice Jazz Club, guests are treated to an evening of intimate jazz sounds, with everything from blue note to bossa nova, in a friendly, candlelit setting.

The entry fee includes your first drink and your own personal table, although you might prefer to just sit up at the bar like the locals do. Plates of cicchetti are brought out before performances from the resident quartet, who begin at 9pm. Sets last about two hours, which flies by when you're zoned in on Brubeck, Ellington and Jobim.
