Believed to be around 2,000 years old, this Vaishnavite temple, perched on a hilltop near Papanasham Beach is an important pilgrimage centre for Hindus. Devotees often take a dip in the sunken water tank inside which is fed by a perennial spring. Note that non-Hindus are not allowed in the inner sanctum, and there’s a strictly enforced dress code of saris for women and ‘mundus’ for men.
