Uttarakhand travel advisory: COVID curfew extended till July 6

The Uttarakhand government has announced to extend the COVID curfew by another week till July 6 (6 AM). Those visiting Uttarakhand from other states need to register themselves on the smart city portal. Not only this, a negative RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test report taken within 72 hours is also compulsory.

However, the government has allowed more relaxations this time; shops have been allowed to remain open six days a week. Also, all the commercial establishments in Mussoorie and Nainital have been permitted to stay open during the weekends too.
State Agriculture Minister and government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal told TOI, “In a way, we can call it the start of the unlock process. Shops have been allowed to operate for six days a week and several other relaxations in the form of public transport vehicles have also been extended.”

Here’s what will be allowed during the unlock process:
1) Restaurants and hotels will be allowed to open at 50 percent capacity. Roadside eateries can also operate.

2) Shops have been permitted to remain open on Sundays in popular tourist destinations of Mussoorie and Nainital. But, all the markets will remain shut on Tuesdays.

3) Gyms in the state have also been allowed to open at 50 percent occupancy.

As per the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded below 40000 cases after 102 days and the fatality rate has gone down significantly.
