If reports are to go by, the safari is scheduled to start in the first week of January next year, which will feature a pair of female lions from Alipur Zoo in Kolkata and another pair from Tripura. Setting up a spacious enclosure spanning 20 acres, along with night shelters, is nearing completion.
Director of the park Kamal Sarkar, provided insights into the forthcoming venture, who elaborated that they have plans to introduce two pairs of Asiatic lions from Alipur and Tripura zoos. For this, the construction works have already been initiated for the enclosure, whereas the night shelters are nearing completion. He further added that they anticipate that by the end of December, the work will conclude, with the safari poised to commence in the first week of the New Year.
Tourists, both domestic and international, will then have another place to explore after this safari opens to the public. Visitors who have already been to this place added that they would love to see the lions in the park here, when they visit the park again in the near future. It's great news for tourists, and this initiative will likely have a positive impact on tourism in this region.
