About Ranipur Tiger Reserve
The Ranipur Tiger Reserve in Chitrakoot district is situated some 150 km from the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The place is home to tigers, leopards, sloth bears, sambar, spotter deer and chinkara. Besides, one can also spot a wide variety of birds and reptiles inside the park. For those who don’t know, Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary was actually founded in 1977 and is a part of the government’s efforts for the protection and conservation of tigers.
Though there are no tigers inside the Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary right now, the officials often see pugmarks in the region. This means that there are tigers nearby, who visit the place from the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.
