The US State Department in its announcement said, "With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to our previous system.”
In March, the department had issued the Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory for some countries. The highest level of travel advisory asks Americans not to travel abroad because of the COVID-19 outbreak and its contagious nature. India and China, along with 50 more countries, remain in the Do Not Travel level of the new travel advisory.
"Do not travel to India due to Covid-19. Exercise increased caution in India due to crime and terrorism," said the US state department in its latest travel advisory. India is still experiencing border shuts, travel restrictions, airport closures, and lockdown situations due to the rising number of virus positive patients.
Other countries that are on Level 4 in the US travel advisory include Syria, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Russia, Mexico, Afghanistan, Egypt and Brazil.
