Reportedly, the state has received fresh snowfall, and the maximum temperature plunged 6 to 14 notches below normal on Wednesday. The local weather office stated that light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in the plains and mid-hills and light to moderate rainfall or snowfall in higher reaches from May 4 to May 7 due to a fresh western disturbance.
The IMD has also added that light to moderate, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa.
Also, most areas in Rajasthan will likely experience thunderstorms and lightning for the next three days due to an active western disturbance.
A 'yellow' alert for thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in plains, low and mid-hilly areas in Himachal has been issued till May 6.
