This is what visiting the Louvre would be like from now on

There is nothing like visiting the Louvre, the world’s largest art museum and a historic monument. It is one of those places that make Paris larger than life, almost magic-like. It was shut to the public for almost four months as Coronavirus swept over the world, hitting the tourism industry more brutally than any other.
The Louvre was opened to the public on July 6, allowing a limited number of masked visitors inside. But visiting this home to the Mona Lisa would never be the same again, for the pandemic has changed the norms for the museum much like it has changed almost everything around the world.
If you have a trip to the Louvre on your mind, this is what you need to know:

• You need to book your intended time of visit online; it would cost you slightly more than 2 Euros. Travellers can no longer opt for on the spot tickets, unless it is of a slot that is not the peak hours. We suggest you book yourself a spot online and skip the queue altogether for a safer option.
• Visitors about 11 years of age need to wear their own masks; hand sanitising is also essential for all the visitors.

• Some of the museum spaces will stay closed for the public, and itineraries would be given to each visitors via signboards to ensure adequate social distancing inside the museum.

• The Louvre will only be open from 9 AM to 6 PM every day. It will stay shut to the public every Tuesday.

• The only entry point would be via the Pyramid.
