The new COVID strain is reported to be 70 per cent more transmissible than the current variants. It was discovered in the UK, and a number of countries barred flights from the UK to contain any possible spread of the same. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that this new decision is aimed “to increase our ability to detect and contain COVID-19 proactively and aggressively”.
All passengers from the UK to the US will need to furnish their airlines with written document of their laboratory test result (either soft or hard copy) to be able to fly to the US.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also states that “Airlines must confirm the negative test result for all passengers before they board. If a passenger chooses not to take a test, the airline must deny boarding to the passenger”.
