Dating of the finds establish that they are from around 2,500 BC to 3,000 BC, suggesting advancement in the metal age. However, researchers are still seeking evidence of iron furnaces in the area. Ongoing studies are also underway to establish a potential connection between Indus Valley graffiti marks found during the excavations and the undeciphered Indus script. Read less
The archaeological finds point to an Iron Age civilisation in Tamil Nadu, which, as per the studies, ran parallel to the Indus Valley civilisation. Historically, the Indus Valley Civilisation lasted from 3,300 BC to 1,300 BC.
If there were iron objects, there must have been iron furnaces. Finding evidence of this, as per reports, is the new challenge that the researchers have currently on their plate.

There are also ongoing studies of graffiti marks that were found in Tamil Nadu during the excavations. This is to try and find connection with the Indus script. Interestingly, the Indus script is yet to be deciphered. It remains an undeciphered script to this date. The studies would reveal whether the graffiti marks were from Indus Valley Civilisation or not.
