Thailand opens to Indians, all that you need to know to plan a trip

A long period of waiting has ended as Thailand opens to foreign travellers from 63 countries including India. The administration has also eased most of the travel restrictions and COVID-related travel rules in most part of Thailand. Now, as per the framework led for Thailand's reopening, fully vaccinated travellers from these countries can enter the nation by air. They must have stayed for a minimum of 21 days in one of the approved countries. Returning Thais and foreign residents, who previously travelled from Thailand, are exempt from this requirement.

A list of documents has been issued by Thailand tourism to ease the process. Here's a checklist for the required documents:

• A certificate of Vaccination (fully vaccinated) with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling.
• Those previously infected within 3 months must have received 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling.
• Travellers under 12 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians, are exempt from the vaccination requirement.
• A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued
  no more than 72 hours before travelling (all travellers).
• A confirmed payment for a 1-night stay at SHA+, AQ, OQ, or AHQ accommodation, and 1 RT-PCR test.
• An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000.

Travellers can choose from a list of 17 destinations, called as sandbox destinations. Visitors will have to stay for seven nights in one of these destinations; afterwards, they are free to move to any of the other parts of Thailand. All shopping venues, cinemas and theatres have also opened up in Bangkok, Krabi, Phang-Nga and Phuket. A number of major attractions have also opened up for travellers, including Bang Pa-In Palace, Chang Hua Man Royal Project, Bhubing Palace, Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in the Grand Palace Complex, Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre and more.

It has to be noted that most of the entertainment venues, including pubs and bars will stay shut till further notice.
