With Omicron making headlines these days, there are talks of a booster doze. Germany has gone a step ahead to exempt those people who have been given a booster vaccination from COVID testing before entering into leisure facilities. According to reports, Germanys Health Minister, Karl Lauterbach and other ministers from its 16 federal states are aiming to encourage people to get the booster shot.
According to the draft that was drawn up by the federal health ministry, "Scientific evidence suggests that a booster reduces both the risk of infection and the risk of further transmission. In addition, the lifting of the obligation to take a test could relieve the heavily used test capacity."
Also, travellers who have been to those places affected by Omicron ten days before coming to Germany need to take a PCR test before leaving, and carry the test report upon arrival in Germany. Also, such people need to go into quarantine until the report is out.
