If reports are to go by, during a meeting with the excise department, the Noida restaurant owners’ association advocated for permission to extend bar operations until 4 AM, noting that currently, bars in Noida are permitted to remain open until 1 AM.
During the meeting, representatives of restro bars stressed the necessity for aligning bar timings in Noida with those in neighboring cities like Delhi and Gurgaon, where nightlife has flourished. With regard to this, an official related to the National Restaurant Association of India, proposed extending bar operating hours until 3-4am, akin to Delhi and Gurgaon, citing the matured nightlife in these cities.
The official added that extended timings would cater to individuals seeking relaxation after night shifts, reducing the need to travel to Delhi or Gurgaon for late-night entertainment. He projected that revised timings would not only facilitate late-night dining but also substantially enhance government revenue.
Members of the committee further added the importance of ensuring that any changes to bar timings do not compromise law and order. While considering the proposal for extending bar hours, the committee remains vigilant to prevent potential law enforcement challenges, with similar measures under consideration for Ghaziabad.
