Inaugurating the projects worth INR 66.5 crore in Lahaul-Spiti, the CM said that sanction have been accorded for opening of 407 homestays in the valley. He further informed that the new homestays will not only help tourists inflow but will also help in generation of new employment opportunities in the region.
The CM said that all this is being done to promote tourism in the region and that the Rohtang Tunnel has opened a new passage in the tourism sector. He said, “Opening of the Atal tunnel has provided all-weather road connectivity to the landlocked hinterland. The influx of tourists to the valley has increased manifold which would help in strengthening the economy of the people”.
Apparently, homestays in such destinations are perfect options. These are equipped with all the facilities and services to make the stay comfortable and memorable for tourists. As per the state tourism department, Shimla district boasts of 433 homestays. Homestays in Kufri, Mashobra, Fagu, Kotkhai and Rohru, are also quite a craze among travellers.
