According to present data, 430,000 people in Ireland are fully vaccinated while in Northern Ireland, nearly 162,000 are fully immunised against the virus. On the other hand, 660,800 people have received their first vaccination dose.
Serbia is the other European country with the maximum number of fully vaccinated people, followed by Malta and Hungary. Turkey is next in the list with 7.1 million people fully vaccinated (8.5 per cent of the population), followed by Germany with 4.3 million individuals (5.2 per cent).
Outside of Europe, Israel tops the chart with almost 56 per cent of its population vaccinated.
Israel Minister of Tourism Orit Farkash-Hacohen said, “As Israel vaccinates its population, the tourism and hospitality sectors are reopening, allowing us to plan for the return of tourists soon.”
The United Arab Emirates comes next in line with a 22.1 percent vaccinated population, followed by Chile (20.1 per cent) and the United States (18.4 percent).
In South Africa, Seychelles became the first country in the world to achieve herd immunity. The country has already opened for tourism and regular flights are available from Mumbai to Mahé from 8 April, 2021.
