Thailand to reopen for some vaccinated travellers from November 1

Thailand will start allowing quarantine-free entry for fully-vaccinated travelers from low risk countries from November onward. This was recently announced by Thailand Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha, which marks another step forward to revive one of the country’s most important sectors, i.e., the tourism sector.

Thailand's PM also added that entertainment venues will be allowed to reopen in the country from December 1, when alcohol sales will also be permitted.
As per the news reports, the 10 nations that are now seen as low risk, include the United Kingdom, China, the United States of America, and Germany.

Further, reports have it that the country has been recording more than 10000 positive infections daily since July. As of now, it has fully vaccinated around 33 per cent of its almost 70 million people, whereas half of its population has already received one dose.
The PM, while referring to visitors coming from 10 low-risk nations, stressed that when they arrive, they should present a negative COVID test report, and will have to undergo a test once again upon arrival. He added that if the second test also comes negative, any visitor from those countries will be allowed to travel freely like the Thais.

However, the Thai PM warned that the government would act decisively and accordingly if there were reports of a spike in COVID infections, or an emergence of a highly contagious variant of COVID-19.
