QR code essential on RT-PCR report if you are flying out of India

In a new development, having a QR code on your RT-PCR test report will be mandatory from May 22, 2021, if you are taking an Air India flight from India. Passengers with no QR code on their test report will not be allowed to board their flight. Reportedly, a number of false/forged negative test reports were given by passengers over the past some time, putting safety of other passengers at risk. The decision is thus being taken to foolproof all RT-PCR test reports.
The rule is applicable only on those taking international flights from India if the destination country has made it mandatory for the arriving passengers to carry their RT-PCR report.
A memorandum regarding the same has been issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The condition applies to flights from all airlines that operate on international sectors from India, and the said memorandum has also advised all such airlines to make arrangements for the process as well as provide necessary support.
