In a new development, having a QR code on your RT-PCR test report will be mandatory from May 22, 2021, if you are taking an Air India flight from India. Passengers with no QR code on their test report will not be allowed to board their flight. Reportedly, a number of false/forged negative test reports were given by passengers over the past some time, putting safety of other passengers at risk. The decision is thus being taken to foolproof all RT-PCR test reports.
A number of countries across the world have barred flights from India as the nation battles its second wave of COVID-19. Currently, it is one of the worst-hit countries by the pandemic in the world, and if right after the USA in terms of COVID death numbers in the world.
